LifeSkills Presenter Training Workshops
LifeSkills is the most highly acclaimed drug, violence, and bullying prevention program in the country for youth in grades three through nine. One-day Presenter Training Workshops will be offered in the Endowment Room, located in the Student Center at Garden City Community College, 801 Campus Drive, Garden City, KS on Tuesday, Oct. 7, Wednesday, Oct. 15, and Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 . There is no charge for this workshop and a continental breakfast and box lunch are provided. Please click here for a flyer and registration form.

St. Catherine Hospice Offers Grief Recovery Workshops and Support Group
Grief Awareness Workshops led by Dr. Billy Kryger, Hospice Chaplain: Topics include--types of loss and the stages of grief, doing grief work, dealing with anger, guilt and depression, children and grief, suicide, spiritual issues in grief, holidays and anniversaries, steps to recovery and growth. Grief Awareness Workshops led by Dr. Kenne Whitson, Hospice Chaplain: Topics include--what is normal grief, myths and cliches of grief, holidays and other special occasions, six needs of mourning and helping ourselves heal.
Comfort Zone Family Retreat for families/individuals whom are grieving a loss: October 17-19, 2008, Camp Lakeside, Scott City, KS. Cost $10/per person. Space is limited, so apply early.
FREE of Charge: meets First Tuesday evening of every month 7:00-8:30 p.m. and First Thursday afternoon of every month 2:00-3:30 p.m. at the Finney County Senior Center 907 N. 10th Street, Garden City, KS.

2008 Kansas Alliance for Drug Endangered Children Conference Set for Wednesday, September 10th, 2008.
This conference benefits community members interested in starting Drug Endangered Children programs, as well as those involved in existing DEC programs. Community members who should be active in DEC efforts include law enforcement personnel, prosecutors, medical professionals, first responders, child protective service workers, and social service providers. Resource Family Support Groups
The Kansas Children's Service League is offering support groups designed to help adoptive parents or foster parents who are also adopting. The groups are FREE and will give adoptive parents an opportunity to meet and discuss parenting issues with other adoptive parents as well as parent leadership opportunities.
